Some of the country’s finest sommeliers went head-to-head in a test of knowledge and experience during the 3rd Philippine Sommelier Competition held last May 20, 2019 in The Atrium, Enderun Colleges.
Held annually, the competition is a showcase of skill and grace under pressure as each sommelier competes in an international-format competition consisting of a written as well as a practical examination. The top 3 then competes in the finals in front of an audience.
Judges include the presidents of the sommelier associations around the globe, as well as prominent local personalities. Aside from the sommelier competition, a wine exposition was also held simultaneously. Wine merchants had the chance to showcase their wine selection to food and beverage executives, culinary professionals, wine aficionados, journalists, bloggers, culinary students, and more.
